Credit Card / Debit Card Charges

I recently booked 2 flights, for a party of 2, on-line with Jet2.com.

For a Credit Card Booking, their charge is £1.75 PER PERSON, EACH WAY ! This totalled an additional £7 to the cost of the flight.

I then decided to book via Debit Card, and they still charged me for this. 80p per person, each way. An additional £3.20 to the cost of the booking.

So, I was not able to make a booking without incurring an additional cost.

My understanding, and correct me if I am wrong, is that the Jet2.com would get charged per transaction, regardless of how many people were on the booking, so how can jet2.com justify these charges?

It just sounds like another money making opportunity where jet2.com are taking advantage and making a tidy profit out of an unreasonable situation.
