Depositing into First Direct Account at the Post Office

Im aware you can make cash deposits at the post office into your FD account. Ive got several questions that would be helpful to get answers for.

Can you just walk in with cash and your debit card to deposit the cash?

Is the deposit instant? so i can check on my phone app on the way out.

Are these services provided in ALL Post Office branches? ive got a very tiny one at the very back of Spar shop in a little village.

Thanks for any answers :)

According to the account T&Cs (condition 19.1), the answer is yes, subject to a £1K maximum at "local branches".

According to the account T&Cs (condition 19.2), the answer is yes, it's "immediate".

According to the account T&Cs (condition 19.1 again), you can use "any Post Office branch".

Maybe call in or ring and ask them?

I use the facility mainly at a small sub post office near me from time to time.

Yes you can just walk in and deposit it, showing your card. No paying in slip needed.

    Yes its immediate.

I have used it in several different small sub offices over last few months no problems.

I can even bank on a Sunday, now a local One Stop is opening its Post Office on Sundays.
