I am posting this on behalf of my son. He has a new dell dimension desktop which he bought 6 months ago but as he works away he has only used it twice. It starts up and then a screen pops up saying windows explorer has stopped working, then after 30 seconds another screen pops up saying windows explorer has encountered a problem, then it shuts down after 5 seconds. The screen goes blank for a minute before the whole process repeats itself.
He has tried re-booting with his windows but to no avail.
Any techies out there who can offer help
Thank you

Does it happen if he boots to safe mode? If so then a repair install via booting from the CD could be an option, if he has tried that then he may need to format the PC and start againl. It could also be hardware related so looking in even viewer in admin tools (control panel) is something else that needs to be done.0

If i was you i'd forget internet explorer amd use Firefox which is a far better browser than explorer.Don't listen to the bad things about Vista its the best
Just because it's free don't mean it's good
Ditch Norton Now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wall:
Just Because you read it some where don't mean it's right
