help regarding Job trials (8 weeks)

Hi can anyone help please
my son has been offered an 8 week trial (unpaid) at a design company via a scheme (sorry don't know the name), from the Job Centre.
Question:
1. will they offer him any help with travel, or will this have to come out of his £57 p/w JSA
2. Will he still be released to go to job interviews etc, he is midst going through RAF selection
3. What if he doesn't get on/settle into it, by taking it on is he risking being sanctioned?
I think the principle of him going is great, but obviously he will use a big chunk of money getting there and back.
I wholly agree with him giving it ago, it is experience and might lead on to other things, however after the nightmare he had with his JSA after doing 12 hours (1 shift, temp last min job) I am concerned. After this job he knew he would get docked £52 from one weeks JSA, but understood that it was better to earn it and to get himself out there, however, they didn't tell him to sign B7 ? form and as such they took the £52 off the 2nd week too and took him going in and out to the job center 3 times to get it resolved.
You would think they would encourage you to go out to work, even if you are not any better, not make it harder :-(

Difficult to give precise information without knowing the exact details.
Sounds like it is voluntary but your son will risk a sanction if he starts and then drops out.
Travel expenses may be available and as regards the interview he needs to ask JCP.
Much better to ask direct to Job Centre Plus before he agrees and then finds out no travel expenses paid and needs to attend full time. Make sure he gets his answers in writing.0 -

Without knowing what the scheme is called, it's almost impossible to answer the questions.
Different schemes have different rules.Question:
1. will they offer him any help with travel, or will this have to come out of his £57 p/w JSA
2. Will he still be released to go to job interviews etc, he is midst going through RAF selection
3. What if he doesn't get on/settle into it, by taking it on is he risking being sanctioned?
With 1, the answer is almost always "JCP pay for transport" if it's an official JCP scheme. Your son should ask the advisor before he agrees to start, however.
With 2, I think the answer is "yes", but your son should ask his adviser for clarification.
With 3, different schemes have different rules, but it's OFTEN the case that if you go into a scheme like this and decide to leave you can be sanctioned.
You'd get more accurate answers by (a) asking his adviser - and make sure to ask his adviser to record the conversation in the JCP systems - or (b) being able to specify the name of the scheme.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Is it a work experience? If so then, YES he will get all his expenses, YES, he will be released to attend any interviews or signing arrangements, attend job interviews or any other employment related events. NO he will not get sanction for leaving a work experince they are voluntary.
If he is not participating in a work experince but its another scheme all answers remain with the expection of the last one, this maychange if he has been referred to a mandatory scheme.0
