Broke my bag...

Bought a bag, it broke, it's internal frame ruptured and ripped the outer skin.
Returned it for a refund, the company involved have said I have to wait till the manufacturer tests and reviews the bag. This could several weeks.
I think that I shouldn't have to wait, I should get a refund and they should recoup any loss from the supplier/manufacturer.
Anyone know anything different?

The retailer does have the right to get the bag examined to see what caused the fault and the manufacturer will be able to do this for them.
The reason for this is that they are not liable for rectifying the problem if it was caused by user error such as by someone overloading the bag or physically damaging it by doing something such as standing or sitting on it.
I'm not implying that this is what happened, but there is no way for the retailer to know this.0
