Just when you think you're doing well!
I've seemingly got to choose between my van and the little family car I just bought to put my NCB on as I cannot use it on two policies. I've never had two vehicles so I didn't know anything about it. this to happen. I am looking at doubling the premium of my little car if I can't sort it out. Anyone got any suggestions or is this just something I've got to pay for?
Many thanks!
Fez.

Is it a van used for business or just personal use?
As you say, you can only use 1 NCD on 1 policy at any one time. In the old days insurers would mirror the NCD onto a second vehicle in certain circumstances or they would give you an additional discount if both policies were only for you to drive (as clearly you cant drive both at the same time).
These days this is very rare and more commonly is multi-car discounts. You may be able to get this if the van is based on a car and is personal use only.
Short of that, find out the cheapest one to insure and use the NCD on the other.0 -
Beware transferring your private car no claims to a commercial one.
My mate got a trade policy and used his private no claims no issue. But he could not find anyone that will allow it to be transferred back so he lost 10 years worth of no claims.
Had to start from zero on his car policy.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
OP, who is the car insurance with. I'm curious to see the question you were asked about NCB.0
