Judi I completely understand your feelings, thats just how I feel right now.
Unfortunately DH has been in DS' s room and started painting which I arn't happy about. He seems completely happy with all this.Jue0 -
Hi winter phoenix, I don't know about letting out a room, we need to look at finances as part of the de cluttering. It would be very strange to have a stranger in the house.
Maman DH is keeping an eye out for another job, but he truly loves where he is now, I think it will end up with him not taking interviews until he inevitably is made redundant.
Today has been a good day in the sunshine.Jue0 -
My empty nest arrived in September last year when my one and only left home. He pops home for the weekend every couple of months. It was strange initially but we soon got used to it and whilst we enjoy having him home we have gradually got used to being a couple again. Sometimes we even talk : ))))
I miss the energy and vitality of having a young one at home. I don't miss the wear and tear on the house (he's a bit accident prone!) and our bills have really reduced.
It's nice to fit around your own timetable instead of trying to second guess the erratic timetable of a busy young person.
I find that what with texting, phone calls and facebook messaging I get some form of contact most days. Have you got any hobbies or interests that you would like to pick up? I have had time and solitude to pick up my old interest in painting and drawing. Yesterday I had all afternoon in the garden listening to Radio 4 and doing some sketching and I wasn't interrupted once-bliss!
I hope your husband gets some good news about his job.Stashbusting 2019 - 230/3000 -
It's very different now ''little un'' has moved out. I am always home from work a good hour or so before by OH and now come in to an empty house and no music booming down the stairs - that's (suprisingly) what I miss the most.
When my youngest left for uni, I used to find the return to an empty house the worst thing too. Like you, I get home earlier than DH. When DS was at home, he would always make me a cup of tea and we'd have a chat about our day. I now come home, change footwear and take the dog for a walk. And am finding that i enjoy this new routine..it is a good, way of transitioning from work me to home me0 -
I have 2 out of 3 still "at home" but they spend huge amounts of time at their respective partners homes.
My and DH have made a really good life for ourselves.
Weekends away, nights out, meals in better restaurants- as only 2 to pay for.
May not be moneysaving but we finance it in reduced bills especially food!!!!!
I feel like after 28 years of marriage we are getting to know each other again.
I also have the freedom to go out with friends and not worry about babysitting/ meals to prepare etc.
Yes, it is a change but I feel that if I have a positive outlook then it will be positive for all concerned
XXXStart by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible and suddenly you are doing the impossible:j
Christmas is not a time but a state of mind :xmassmile
Trying.....Very trying- as my DH would say
Loving de-cluttering0
