Eligibility Checker tool

Hi,
I've tried using this on quite a few occassions filling in all the details correctly , but keep getting the same old message:
Unfortunately, we have not been able to find your details at the Credit Bureau. Please check and try again.

Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

    • Do you live in an apartment? Sometimes addresses don't match exactly.
    • Are you on the Electoral Register?
    • Do you have or have you ever had any credit agreements?

  • thanks,
I added myself to the eletrol role about a week ago, and I do live in a flat.
Apart from that, I'm in FT employment, no credit defaults, have a credit card, no bad credit history, so maybe its becase I havent been on the electrol register for a while its coming up with this?
  • There are sometimes different ways of addressing flats;
    • Flat A, 666 Anyname Road
    • 666A Anyname Road
If you don't match what the CRA has they may not find you.

I can use the MSE one ok but not Confused.com's checker even though I have used it before; I get roughly the same message.
All that glitters is not gold.
  • Hi there,

I tried to use the checker tool this evening and got the same message posted earlier in this thread:

'Unfortunately, we have not been able to find your credit details at the credit bureau. Please check and try again.'

I have been at my present address for less than one year but the minimum option on the drop down menu is 1 year. Could this be the problem?

It is not a flat, I am employed full time and have been on the electoral role for 2 yrs.

    Any ideas would be welcomed!
  • I couldn't even get the Eligibility Calculator to confirm my address, no matter how many different ways I tried to enter it. I have known for quite some time that the credit reference agencies have a problem accepting my address. I can't even get a copy of my credit file any more! I tried several years ago but just gave up.

I live in an old building that has been converted into self-contained flats but on the postcode database, only the basement flat (which I don't live in) has its own unique address. The other 4 flats are just listed together under a general 'Flats' address with the name of the property.

When you use the Eligibility Calculator, there should be a way of manually overcoming address problems like this. It wouldn't even accept just the name of my property, without any particular flat number included. I also tried typing in the postcode and hoping it would present a list of different addresses for me to select, but that didn't work either.:(
