I use it to fry EVERYTHING IN since it has a high smoke point. Ebay and Amazon seller realfoodsource is where I get mine from.....approx £14 a litre0

The carrot cake crumble sounds yum. Can I have the recipe, please?
Hi Fen1
The recipe was this one, from the Chocolate Covered Katie blog - but I fiddled with it a bit. I used a mixture of crushed pineapple in juice and pineapple chunks in juice, melted coconut oil for the fat, spelt flour for the flour and brown sugar rather than stevia. I also added some extra 'carrot cake' spices (more cinnamon, ginger and a pinch of ground cloves) and some toasted flaked coconut and chopped pecans - they're not necessary but I just had some to use up. Next time I might add a few sultanas.
The recipe looks totally wrong when you make it and you think it can't possibly work, but it bakes up to a sort of crumbly, crunchy topped carrot cakey crumble. We ate it warm with vanilla frozen yogurt and it was really good. It makes quite a big amount too - it lasted us for ages!0 -
Thank you. I am lactose and gluten intolerant, so any new recipes are gratefully received.0

Pah. Hipster snobs. Bet you're all la-dee-dah types who sneer at people still buying olive oil only from chemists for their ears. "Ooh, look at me, I'm twenty years ahead of you."
Just stick it in your hair and don't be so silly. 'Cooking' with coconut oil. Ridiculous.
I'm going to start a cult of spritzing salad leaves with WD-40. "Oh, it stops cholestrum radiclots sticking to your arteries!"
Nothing wrong with cooking with coconut oil, its healthier than olive oil when heated.
I buy mine 2 for 6 quid from ebay, nothing snobby about me.0 -
WOW just saw this post my God you are all paying far tooooo much for this.
My wife buys this all the time when she goes to Germany and it only cost's about 1.50 euros for 250g which is 100% coconut, she uses this all the time for meat fondues and cake making.0
