Miffed at being blocked on Twitter

I know a few people that have won Dave Lackie Comps0

That's bad Broughton - bad PR. Doesn't matter WHY you're following him really - if they have conditions they should be spelled out right there in the comp post. I'm still waiting to hear of anyone winning Dave Lackie anyway!
Second picture on this post is a win

sure I have read of others as well
Sometime ago they responded to a query on UK entries , cannot find the post but it is mentioned here so perhaps the blocking was for some other reason

I have been following this page and entering their competitions for ages.. haven't won any but that isn't relevant.
There are a few other Twitter pages that have done this but I'm really annoyed over this one. I have 7 grandchildren and I am always buying presents and books for birthdays and Christmas.
My feed is mostly comps with some chat to friends, but surely if a company runs competitions they expect people to enter? I'm sure they would be unhappy if no-one did.
I didn't realise that they emailed people to tell them when you blocked them. Anyone who follows me that is on the MSE spam list I block, also I have blocked a couple of followers with an overly-pornographic looking profile picture of a girl accompanied by suggestive wording, London Speed Dating, and a couple of others that were spewing dozens of posts at a specific time of day each day (SEO "experts").i got blocked from Dave lackie. Made the mistake of tweeting them to ask a question and assume they looked at my twitter acct which is largely used for retweets and got blocked! That's bad Broughton - bad PR. Yes, Dave Lackie seems like a total waste of time to me, often has nearly two thousand people retweeting each comp, never heard of anyone winning. Maybe he's only interested in North America? Anyway, being the rebel without a cause that I am, I've just blocked him on Twitter :rotfl:
As regards the OP being blocked by Harper Collins Children, I can only assume that it is because it is supposed to be for children, and grannies aren't children. However, having said that, surely more people retweeting your posts equates to more people that are hearing of your brand name, and all publicity is good publicity? Quite surprised, really. Thanks to all who post constructively.

I asked Dave Lackie ages ago if people based in the UK can enter his giveaways and he confirmed that we can.
There's been winners from Falkirk and Leeds that I've noticed in the past.0 -
I also blocked somebody who has a bio that says "I block anybody who retweets any of my competition retweets" :rotfl:Thanks to all who post constructively.

Ok ok ok!! I'll quit obsessing about Dave Lackie!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0

I know of bloggers who've won multiple Dave Lackie comps...I'm pretty sure the PRs who give him prizes are happy with that 'random choice'...ha!0

Some companies might add a spam feature to automatically block if there have been recent problems with spammers. Some innocent people could be blocked on accident. If you contact them they should unblock you.0

It does seem strange - run a comp, hoping people are inclined to enter a comp and therefore get involved - but block people who are really inclined to enter a comp.
Nutz Audio have blocked me. I'm a DJ, buy a LOT of audio equipment. But because I enter a few comps (ok a lot!) they don't want me to ever consider them when weighing up a purchase.0
