CTB/HB time from application to award letter

I know this can take varying amounts of time around the country but what timescales are around at the moment?
I essentially need the letter to back up a grant application.

Phone YOUR council and ask for their wait times, its 4 weeks where I work and 12 in the next authority

My Local Authority is currently processing some claims the day they come in. It will vary depending on the workload and backlog so every local authority will be different. It's like asking how long is a piece of string.These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.0

When I first applied in a different area two years ago it took about three days so I guess we were spoiled then.0 -
You suppose correctly OP. My LA is 9 weeks, although the one I work for is around 3 weeks.
The wait time depends on backlog, staffing, number of applications etc.0
