There is an electronic database now. They can check that.
Risk is the issue here. There are two risks involved as well. Paying the money to the wrong person and not getting it back when the right person turns up and the regulator taking action against you for paying money to the wrong person.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I agree but it does happen.
