My OH has gone away for 2 weeks to work away and has left me with all his plants, I have been watering them daily in the evening and his tomatoes are coming on well, beetroot is getting ready etc so all good there.
Disaster, this morning I received a parcel of 20 Maris Peer 2nd christmas crop tuber potatoes from Thompson & Morgan we forgot ordering and I will have to deal with them. I am not greenfingered and I have been known to kill cactus!:D
I need help talking through what to do if someone is kind enough to help.
We have potato patio bags ready and around 20 potatoes sent through in a cardboard box. What do I need to do? Which soil should I get and how should they be planted? The leaflet says around 5 tubers per bag so I need to prepare 4 bags but how deep and far apart do I put them? Did I mention I haven't got a clue:p
He will be really impressed when he gets back if I manage to sort this!
Please help, you never know, I might even start to enjoy it:rotfl:
Thanks for reading.

Thank you for the link, it explains it in a way even I can understand:D
So as I understand it, I don't need to "chit" them because they are second cropping potatoes?
My dad is bringing some bags of compost later (I cannot lift at them moment) so I will get started. We already have the patio planters and I cannot see us getting frost in the next couple of weeks.
I didn't think it would be as simple as it explains so panic over:rotfl:
Thanks again
