Signman79's post - moving in with partner

I am posting this on a new thread for signman79 as they appear to be having some difficulty doing it and has tagged it on to other threads.
Sorry for the confusion!
This is my first post since joining the site so please bare with me while I get my head around things.
Anyway I am currently claiming housing benefit, income support and SDA at my current address but I am also in the process of moving home but I am unsure as to what my next steps would be in terms of my benefits as I will be moving in with a partner. She earns a lot more than I do and in full time employment but we have both been put down on the tenancy along with the council tax. Can anyone give any advice on what my best course of action would be? Do I cancel my benefits altogether or contact someone for more advice?

You need to contact all the relevant departments and let them know that you are moving. the new address and the change of circumstances.
I believe that SDA is not means tested so you should be able to keep this part but lose the IS. The others are all means tested so if your partner is in full time employment you may not be eligible for HB and CT.
How much does your partner earn?0 -
