Do complain to your local MP about how PPCs are allowed to issue unfair charges and use techniques that amount to harassment under the disguise of "business"**********************************************

So although this letter is from the Solicitors, its actually not an LBC (Been reading the NEWBIE thread).
Thank you!
It's not even from the solicitors, it's just from Poxburghe again pretending to be Gladstone's. We see loads of these.Je suis Charlie.0 -
Hi bazster
The letterhead and footer seems to be from Gladstones Solicitors, I have understood from the NEWBIE thread(thank you everyone!) that this isn't legal language and just a letter made to look menacing to the lay person's eye.
But do these companies stoop to this level to get payments? Just using a Solicitors letterhead ?:eek:0 -

Yup, they've been doing it for years. Why do you think it says to call Poxburghe, not Gladstone's?
Poxburghe's previous solicitor-wh0re retired/died/got closed down or something so relatively recently Gladstone's (aka The Red Cow Yard Gang) have stepped into the breach by prostituting their name and letterhead.
If you want to you could write to Gladstone's (not Poxburghe) and demand to know who instructed them. I'd be intrigued to hear their answer.Je suis Charlie.0 -
No, if you read the forum a bit more you will find they go much much lower than this!rainydays710 wrote: »Hi bazster

Greed is the driver and the only driver i'm afraid.
Most companies provide a service or product for your money, the private parking industry tries all tricks to relieve you of your hard earned cash for just making your life shear misery end of story!0 -
I got one of these a couple of weeks back, virtually identical except my friendly PPC in question is Vehicle Control Services.
Sorry to hijack this thread, I can start a new one if you want full details, but the long and short of it is that I sent them an appeal letter ages ago - they refused to give me a POPLA code and I've ignored all the Roxburgh pester letters for several months since.
This latest letter is clearly not a proper LBCC, but I'm wondering whether to reply or not. Certainly not up for parting with £160!
Thanks in advance0 -

if you check the news and the MSE forums you will see that many companies use fake solicitor type letters, wonga was one in the news recently, and various energy companies and banks etc are also doing it as part of their debt collection activities
its not even signed if you actually look at the letter , its just a gladstones template altered by poxburghe and sent out to frighten people
a proper LBC will actually say so, and should be signed too
I have no doubt the PPC could employ a solicitor like gladds to issue an LBC or an MCOL , but the letter posted isnt one
they could issue an LBC or an MCOL themselves , or the landowner could do so
so its certainly possible that the creditor, or their legally appointed agent, or the landowner, could issue an LBC or an MCOL, so if they do, and you are sure it is one , come back for help
but the link posted is merely a debt collector letter with a false letterhead0 -
Redx, Thank you so much.
In fact thanks to everyone in this forum, fisherjim, Dee.
I have definitely learnt a lot just in the last few days. I cant imagine why these companies would resort to this sort of fear mongering activities.
People will naturally pay for parking, again what really infuriated me was the fact that I paid almost £8 for parking for an hour and just because I was about 6-8 minutes late, they slap me with an £120 fine. It is unjust. I wish these companies are brought to court and made to pay millions of £ in compensation to all those that they have misappropriated over the years. :A0
