Hello everyone !

I have read through all the forums and I am not sure what I should do at this moment.

I was of the impression that if I ignored the notices this will not carry on.

Initial incident: I paid for parking and was late by 8 mins and UK Parking Ltd slapped me with a £120 fine.

I dont think by any means this is fair and I honestly want to challenge them. What shall I do at this stage?

Please help! Getting pretty desperate!

Hi everyone!

Here is the link to the notice. (sorry had to change the link guys)

The first thing you should do is remove that notice as it has your name at the top, and the regulars have seen hundreds of these pieces of scrap paper before!
The next thing you should do is read the newbies thread, which it's a shame you didn't do before getting yourself this far.

Edit: well done you covered up your name.

I was about to say read post 4 of newbie thread. This is typical in the chain and you should just file it away in the dustless dirtiest place in your house and forget about it!

UKParking have never done court and probably won't so forget all about it.

  • Hi Fisher, I have changed the link.

Its unfortunate that I hadn't read this forum earlier. I am not sure if its too late.

    Will appreciate any advise.

they can pursue the RK for up to 6 years under the small claims service in england and wales , ever since POFA 2012 in oct 2012

as instructed , all you can do now is read the NEWBIES sticky thread, especially post #4

this should have been appealed at the time of the pcn , almost impossible to turn the clock back

nobody thinks any of these parking invoices are fair, due to the exorbitant charges involved
  • Hi Dee,

Thank you so much for your advice. I had ignored the Roxburghe letters but when I saw the solicitors letter I was not sure what to do as they were claiming to go to court.

    Thanks for your advice :)
  • Hi Redx,

Its extortionate and not even remotely equitable what these companies do. If I had a £10 or £20 fine, I might have just paid it and got on with it but at £120 its just too expensive.

Can they take me to court? Or will they just continue annoying me with letters?

of course they can take you to court, they have up to 6 years to do so like I already said (why would I say it if it were not true ?)

    I quote
they can pursue the RK for up to 6 years under the small claims service in england and wales , ever since POFA 2012 in oct 2012

that letter is a poxburghe phishing trip designed to scare you with possible charges

its the LBC or an MCOL you have to watch out for and deal with , as fully explained in the NEWBIES sticky thread
  • Hi Redx,

So although this letter is from the Solicitors, its actually not an LBC (Been reading the NEWBIE thread).

    Thank you!
