Luggage Storage in London

Hi,

I'm visiting London with my three daughter's next week & I was wondering if anyone could give me any help/tips for luggage storage for the day? The cheaper the better if possible.

I would like to store our bags between 10am - 7pm if possible. I've heard some of the museums offer 'left luggage' area's?

Thank you for any help.

Regards

Mike

I used a company that have several locations in London to keep my luggage for a few hours. The one I used was in Paddington Station, however, they cover a lot of London, here is a link to their various London locations:

Victoria Coach Station is cheaper, but of course may not be as convenient.

You might want to consider The British Library where storage is free but there is a size restriction.

Some of the Museums do have cloakrooms but they will not be open until 7pm as most shut between 5.30 and 6pm.

The British Museum has a cloakroom.
£1.50 per item, 50 pence for umbrellas, fold-up pushchairs free.
    Maximum size: 40x40x50cm
Maximum weight: 8kg (except fold-up pushchairs).

The Natural History has cloakroom storage during opening hours 10am to 5.50pm, Rates are:
    Cloakroom prices: umbrellas £1, coats £1.50, bags 0-4kg £1.50, bags 4-9kg £3 and bags 9kg+ £6.

The Science Museum next door to NH Museum
    Prices
Coats, jackets, other clothing, umbrellas, folded prams/buggies, scooters: £1 per item.
    Small bags: £2 per item.
Suitcases, unfolded prams/buggies: £4 per item

Q2. ‘What’s the largest item I can bring in? And how many can I bring in?’

    A2. This is the standard airline ‘carry on’ size, i.e. 56cm (h) X 45cm (w) X 25cm

(l), and you will be able to bring two into the Library.

The British Library is a close neighbour of Kings Cross Station.

In the MAin Entrance and down the stairs to the left luggage place.

The British Library is just a few minutes down the road. If your bags are small - airline carry on size - you can put them in lockers with a £1 returnable deposit. You need to have a back up plan in case there are no lockers available or the opening hours are too limited.

Your hotel might let you store them there on your departure day - Premier Inn are v good for this.
