Problem with Aqua

Hope you lovely people can help as I am out of ideas! Apologies for my long post.

In 2010 I opened a credit card account with Aqua I subsequently closed it late 2012, this was shown correctly as settled on my credit reports.

Looking at my report in October 2013 another Aqua account had appeared on my credit file with the same start date as the original account of 12.02.10 but there was nothing reported until June 13 where it was shown as a green markers.

Confused I called Aqua and they agreed I no longer had an account with them and they would get this false information removed, they asked me to wait at least 2 months for the credit files to be updated.

In January as both accounts were still showing I wrote to Aqua and explained in great detail what was wrong and I asked that the incorrect account showing as live was removed from my credit report. They wrote asking for 28 days to investigate and then after 6 weeks wrote again to say that the investigation was complete and that they had removed the incorrect information and to leave it another 28 days before I check my credit report.

You can guess what has happened, they have removed the wrong information and an account with Aqua is still showing as live!! Where do I go from here? The account has never been used and has been sitting with a 0 balance since they started reporting in June 2013.

Obviously it would be easy to ask them to close this account but as it is wrong I don’t want it showing on my credit report.

Any ideas on how to rectify this would be gratefully received.

If you have been checking say Experian then contact them.
If you get no sense make a formal complaint to the CEO of Aqua outlining what you have said on here.
Warn them that you may go the Information commissioner with a complaint if they do not sort it out pronto.
