Morning :hello: everybody - hope this beautiful day finds you all fit and well :j.
((((Big Hugs)))) for all who need them.
Best of Luck to all those dealing with the fall out from 'school hols' - whether the kiddly-winks are your own OR 'borrowed for the day' :rotfl:. Apart from Monday this week, so far I've escaped
think next week may be a totally different proposition, though .
Yesterday's extra shift at the CS went very well - I was working with a different team of volunteers, but I know them all anyway - just not used to working together. However, one of those ladies was volunteering when I first started here 30yrs ago (I DID have a break for 23+yrs while working full-time), so we HAD worked together - albeit many years ago. The shift went very well - lots of customers took their tea/coffee/refreshments to our outdoor tables/chairs as it's a bit of 'a suntrap' at the front. The remainder sat indoors - bemoaning the heat :rotfl:.
Managed to contact my hairdresser to change 'Saturday afternoon's 2.00pm' appointment for a dry cut to '8.30am Friday morning' - going out for Afternoon Tea on Saturday with DSis's and our three DD's. This is using a 2 for 1 voucher - so costing £19.99 per 'Mum & Daughter' instead of paying that much each .
The 'Giants' are due in Liverpool again this coming weekend - so we expect the City Centre to be packed to bursting. One of my nieces is very heavily pregnant, so we're going to have to take special care of her
.
Plans for today include:- Bit of
in at the moment - with another load waiting to go in. Want to get it all
before I go out later. Also want to strip the bed - it's been so clammy that sheets need changing more frequently
.
- Regular shift at the CS this afternoon - hope we have a 'good one'. Still desperately trying to ignore any bargains, in the hopes of keeping finances under control :T.
- Will do a quick 'A$da Whoopsie Hunt' after the shop, as I could do with some 'rooms to go in an Omelet for evening meal. If I can't find any, there's some baby orange/yellow peppers that will work .............. ooooh, just had a  - could turn it into a Frittata :j.
That's it, I'm now off to sort out the laundry and get the next load going .................
Have a good day everybody and stay safe in all that heat/sunshine .
cheers - Lilyplonk x0 - Bit of

Morning everyone.
Sunny here again in Glasgow and the city is cranking up the excitement for tonight's opening ceremony. Place is packed with people and colour panda some dreaded 'games lanes'.
I'm heading back up north for a long long weekend away from the crowds. Got tickets for Friday night swimming session so will drop back down for it before going back up.
Had to have new brakes and two new tyres so that was a lot to dish out...eating from the freezer time but it is pretty full just now.
Hope everyone is well, keeping OK or getting better.
Enjoy the sunshine and happy Wednesday.0 -
Morning all,
Have a hug TTFTM , I'm sure your fed up.x
Tea was delish last night. We had mange tout, courgettes, carrots, green beans, broad beans which we stir fried with chicken and rice. It was so lovely. We are trying to pick small amounts more often and eat them rather than waiting whilst we have a glut. I always freeze leftovers but it is nice to eat them fresh.
I'm off to have my nails done this morning as a special treat for my weight loss. Another half off yesterday, so it's coming off every week and people are starting to notice which is nice.
I also need to post a couple of letters and call for some milk.
Tea tonight will be salad out of the garden with fish.
I'm loving the summer and also love the Autumn and winter. One of the best things about our country are the changing seasons.
Anyway better get ready, have a good day all xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning all
Ttftm - sorry it wasn't the news you wanted to hear, stay strong (hugs)
Jackieo - hope consultant appointment goes well
Much cooler here last night. We had sweet pepper sauce on pasta last night but I only had a small portion as penance for a sneaky ice cream mid afternoon!
DH back was playing up something naughty yesterday and his dr couldn't fit him in so we were sat at the local minor injuries hospital for over two hours just to get some co-codamol
Hoping to get a bit more washing out and think I will have to wash the floors today (been putting it off for ages)
Loads of tomatoes in garden but all still green. Lots of french beans too which I will pick for dinner, going to make frittata tonight.
Mrs LW I was melting in the kitchen too last night!
Have a great day all, hugs to those who need them xx0 -
TTFTM (((HUGS))) You're entitled to feel sorry for yourself; even if you knew at the back of your mind that more surgery was in the offing, it's still not pleasant when it's confirmed and the date given to you. Coping vibes for you, mate.Gnat bites are getting slightly less inflamed and itchy ,but still painful. You wouldn't think a tiny thing like a couple of insect bites could cause so much hassle
Mr LW has his date to go for his pre-op "assessment" appointment. They want me to go along with him, so that we "get the most benefit" from the chat.:(:(:( Gods, I shall be glad when this is all over.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Good afternoon everybody,
TTFTM-sorry to hear about another op,hugs.
Handed DGS back to his Mummy an hour ago after his overnight stay,he slept all night till 10 to 7 after his last bottle :jShe was telling me there were topless women in the park sunbathing yesterday lunchtime when she was there with a couple of other young mums & babies.
Antipasti for tea and other bits with salad.
I've got a small sewing job to do for DS1 so need to get on with that shortly.
Had a phone call earlier from a young lady who was coming to see me tomorrow. She wants to scan some WW1 memorabilia I have of my Great Uncles for a History Wall at a new community centre. It used to be the church all my Gran's family attended.5 of her brothers joined up to fight, sadly only 3 came back, the other 2 were buried in France in 1918.Unfortunately the scanner is playing up and she has to get a technician to have a look so we've put it off till next week.Apparently it scans to a high resolution so the images can be blown up really big.
Anyway enjoy the rest of the day x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
jlhmd666 That doughnut recipe looks brill.I too have a d'nut maker and didn't like the recipe much (neither did my DGS) as they will all be broken up this week from school I am hoping when we get a wet day I will take my D'nut maker to their house and we can make some of those.(looks like a good rainy day thing to keep them amused.I usually make 'biscuit boys' ( small biscuit dough, shaped like little gingerbread me) and I dip the feet in melted chocolate for boots, and we decorate them with iceing and glace cherries or cut up bits of sweeties for eyes etc.Anything we can cook and eat keeps them amused
:):)
We didn't get round to making them yesterday, just the sandwich toaster cakes, which they liked. Will be making them tomorrow or Friday though so will let you know if that recipe is better than the one that came with the doughnut maker
I like the sound of your biscuit boys. Do you use a gingerbread man mould? (I think I have one of those) Have you got a recipe for them please?
My M.I.L takes the children quite often and loves spending time with them. I really appreciate the trouble she goes to to keep them occupied2016 Grocery Challenge January: £296.20/£300 February: £262.05/£3000 -
Afternoon all.
Blimey, these school holidays are hard work. Youngest is autistic and is such hard work.
Anglian water have been out today and did some more clearing up from the floods on Sunday. I am currently being sent from pillar to post re getting extra drainage. We take the water from the street. It basically stops outside my front door. I will be cross if we have to pay for extra drainage. Man from angliN water said it should t happen again, but although we didn't flood last year, mthis did happen last year.
I am struggling for meal ideas right now, especially as it's so hot.
Sorry for moaning.
Hope you feel better soon Lamewolf. Hope all goes well for your husband.
I need to make a shopping list and pop to a$da.
Love, hugs and spoons x0 -
Afternoon all
Well, this morning I decided to wash down the banisters. I've no idea when they were last done but oh my  They were so dirtyIt was also the type of job that worked up a sweat
and I needed another shower afterwards. I used stardrops mixed with water to clean it and it definitely did the job.
I had a mini disaster today as I dropped a full tub of double cream in the carpet :eek::eek: Most of it spilled out so I needed to get that cleared up as I don't want the carpet to start smelling of stale cream
I'm making beef stew and dumplings with cheesy mash for tonight. I read on another thread that someone put redcurrant jelly in the stew so I am trying that as it sounds nice
That's about it for today so far. OH needs to pick up some mouse traps as I discovered lots of droppings in the under sink cupboard yesterday :(
Kids are at their weekly summer holiday club and M.I.L is picking them up for me at 4pm so I'm going to have a look at some more OS ideas on here. It's just so full of useful information and hints and tips2016 Grocery Challenge January: £296.20/£300 February: £262.05/£3000 -
I have been making the most of this glorious weather and have been out in the garden for most of the time, it is looking really good now
We are going to a barbecue at one of our neighbours tonight, so I have made a strawberry cheesecake which always goes down well.
Other than that just the usual daily grind.
LW positive vibes for your DH xx
