This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Back in work today and having a self pity party instead of getting ready, I really need a kick up the backside .... HARD!
Will try and think of something positive to say and come back later to catch up.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those that need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a lovely day.

Good morning - up early too! I don't seem to be sleeping for many hours at once. went to sleep at 11.30pm. up again at 1.30am, then 4am. Down stairs and made a drink at 5am.
Music, I see you are mortgage free, Something to be proud of. Congratulations.
Chat more later...
Back again! so far have managed to complete the surveys sent yesterday.
Had a lie down to rest some more as I feel tired being awake much of the night.
Not much to chat about today. The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
Morning all,
Another one up early, after a hot and humid night. Quite overcast at the moment, but the forcast is hot again.
A few jobs to do today and then this evening going out for a meal with the "girls" I used to work with to celebrate 2 birthdays, really looking forward to that.
TTFTM I don't suppose you had a very good night, sending you hugs.
Have a good day everyone and will catch up with you later.

Good Morning All. Been AWOL for a while due to moving and new job, but now things are settling down I hope to be on more. Have been trying to sort out boxes from the move but have been losing the battle to them, so have decided to just do one box a night and if it takes till xmas then so be it. DD2 is being a royal pain but that's due to the move (she didn't want to leave her friends). DD1 is happy now we are closer to her and DGD.
Anyhoo promise to pop in daily and catch up with everyone.
Hugs to all in need

TTFTM Chin up honey keep battling on
jlhmd666 That doughnut recipe looks brill.I too have a d'nut maker and didn't like the recipe much (neither did my DGS) as they will all be broken up this week from school I am hoping when we get a wet day I will take my D'nut maker to their house and we can make some of those.(looks like a good rainy day thing to keep them amused.I usually make 'biscuit boys' ( small biscuit dough, shaped like little gingerbread me) and I dip the feet in melted chocolate for boots, and we decorate them with iceing and glace cherries or cut up bits of sweeties for eyes etc.Anything we can cook and eat keeps them amused:):)
We came second last night at the pub quiz so another bottle of wine.I now have 8 in the collection so next week will take them with me to the quiz and share them out amongst the team
Consultants appointment this afternoon at the hospital, and hopefully I will hear when the next op. will be.
Tomorrow I am off to London with DGD Holly for first lunch at Q on the Roof at Selfridges, (suprise extra treat for her ) then the matinee of Billy Elliot.I hope she likes the theatre I saw it about 2 years ago and loved it.
Gnat bites are getting slightly less inflamed and itchy ,but still painful. You wouldn't think a tiny thing like a couple of insect bites could cause so much hassle
Right time for a shower, and some coffee I think Have a good day everyone and don't forget the sun screen its going to be another warm one ,at least in the south.
Cheers chums

Someone want's me to lose weight, I've been left out of the cakes for 4 birthday in a row, funny how they remember to ask me for a donation isn't it!

Morning everyone
Birthday wishes to those celebrating a birthday, hope you have a great day x
Hugs and get well wishes to those that want/need them.
Sky is blue with light cloud and quite a breeze, not so humid, but still forecast to be hot. Watered plants and greenhouse. Washing on the line when I get back from work, as not enough yet to make a load.
DH and DS1 up and gone to work stupid early.
Dinner last night was not the planned spag bol, as I was late home from work – after staying a bit late to finish some paperwork off and then needing to stop off at SM to buy another loaf of bread, as the boys seem to be eating so much at the moment. I also made the decision on my microwave and got that whilst I was there, I checked out what they had in Argoose and they were all more expensive and not really what I wanted, so money wise it didn’t save me to buy at Argoose using my gift card. There are some other bits that we need so I’ll be buying those with the gift card tomorrow. Dinner tonight will be the spag bol.
Work was strange again yesterday, either dead or really busy, and of course as we were ready to shut the doors, had a load of customers come in, some of which will return this morning. Only working until lunchtime, then will be home to do my normal chores.
Need to do some more info gathering on the internet for our hols over the next day or 2.
Take care in the sun and warm weather, remember the sunscreen x
Keep safe and well x

Morning :hello:

I've booked our holiday, Cornwall at the end of september – can't wait!
Through The Looking Glass is being filmed at the docks next month apparently. Shame it's not Pirates, Captain Jack – yes please! The Mad Hatter – not so much.
The tomatoes are starting to change colour :T I still get more excited about tomatoes than anything else we've grownI've been doing what I always do but this year they won't stop trying to make their way out of the greenhouse roof. I wouldn't mind if this meant extra fruit, but it doesn't. I've renamed them Triffidus Tomatoum

I've been sorting compost and moving wood – just what you need on a hot dayI've got a scrapped knee, a huge blister on one finger, skin scrapped off another finger and I stubbed my toe – it still hurts this morning. Today all my jobs will involve staying clean and not carrying anything, lol. The red onions have been sitting outside for days, I've pulled all the dry bits off and cut the roots, I'll plait them today. I've been boxing up eggs, I can start selling them again now.

Good Morning everyone, what a hot and humid night it was, both up early and He Who Knows is out with the Dockling and I am about to tackle the ironing.
Busy day yesterday in the kitchen, not really the weather for cooking but as the produce was ready I made 5 jars of Bread and Butter Pickles, 4 jars of Redcurrant Jelly, 8 jars of Blackberry and Raspberry Jam and 5 jars of Spiced Apple Jelly. There were times when I thought I'd melt but the finished products make me feel very satisfied.
Have my daughter, son in law and grandson coming to stay this weekend so busy sorting out her bedroom and buying a cot for the baby to sleep in when he's here. Looking forward to the visit very much and have a nice menu sorted out and trying to find somewhere new to go on Saturdy for the day that's 'baby friendly'.
Hope you are all OK in this sticky weather , stay cool, Lyn xxx.0
