Shawbrook Bank

I am thinking of putting a considerable amount into a Shawbrook 3 year bond, however on researching the internet I have discovered that there is a Shawbrook bank clone. How can I distinguish the real bank from the fraud one?

Your browser should show a small padlock before the website address. This indicates that it is a secure site.

However, any sensible fraudster will also have a secure site. Check the details of the certificate (click the padlock, usually).

There was one last year, but seems to have been vanished by the FCA (after a bit of prodding by Shawbrook). Their cert is (still) registered as Whiteaway Laidlaw Bank which it was up to around 3 years ago...
