in Credit cards
I've had a "pre-approved" flyer for a citibank visa platinum offering 9 months 0%. There's no info I saw on BT fee, but was wondering - what are citi like for credit limits? I know it's so tricky.... are they in egg/mbna territory or far more conservative. (ideally 10-15k wanted to move some money off mbna)

I applied for this deal in February and got a 2K limit - which makes them less generous than the majority of cards in my estimation. Also note that balance transfers [there is no fee] are limited to 90 per cent of the limit given and minimum payments are higher than other cards - at 3 per cent of the reducing balance.
[BTW I'm not sure if further BTs are possible at 0% during the 9 months - or how/if you could get your limit raised within the same period].....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
Milarky,
I agree with you that they are very cautious in dishing out high credit limits. I have been with them for more than 15 years now and my credit limit increases over the years has been miserly compared to others.
Psssssst……….. Citi notified most of us recently that they are introducing a transfer fee of 2% - For me I have a capping of £40.00.Charles J0 -
Also must agree with ANB.
Ive had Citibank card for over three years & spent heavily on company purchases, even paying interest on ocassions (shock...horror), but they barely increase credit limit.
A year ago they upgraded me to a Platinum card but wont budge on their miserly £4.5K limit, unless I agree to a credit check.0 -
I agree, citibank is also my lowest credit limit £1300 compared to £13000 with barclays!0

I've applied and been accepted for a Citibank CC but they seem to be pitifully slow in getting round to sending me the card or letting me know the limit. Anyone else had similar experiences of them?0

I agree that Citicard is slow to increase credit limit but I have a citicard and they have increased my limit last week after 2 years by £3,000 in one go.Regards
