Cat flap in DG conservatory.

I've got a cheap B&Q lean-to conservatory, all panels are glass. Been quoted £250 to make a hole in it that I can buy a catflap for.

Blimey!

Is this the right price?

B.

Is that the unanimous verdict? If so, I am happy!

They are not cutting a hole in an existing unit, they are replacing the unit with a pre cut hole. Price depends on the size of the glass but it's not out of line with the price I paid to have a pane replace in my door with pre cut hole.

I have just had another quote. this time from a glazing company near me.

To replace the handle and lock (which have gone wrong) and also to replace the glass DG panel with one with a hole in it, AND to supply and fit the cat flap, £250 all in.

So there was a better deal available after all!

What size is the glass? Does the price include the cat flap?

Second quote inc the fat clap and fix the handle/lock is good one .
 hard as nails on the internet . wimp in the real world
  • I'm also on the hunt for a cat flap fitter ... only made one call so far and the price I was given was £310 which includes the catflap (sureflap microchip) + to replace the glass unit in the patio door which is 40cm by 180cm... Sounds fairly reasonable considering the cat flap itself is around £80 on Amazon.

again about right . the unit gets changed and replaced . ask to keep the old one if you sell or your cat/dog does one or refuses to use it
