Legal Advice Needed Bank Account Blocked

Last week without warning access to my bank account was blocked for no apparent reason, i have called the bank several times asking for explanations, each time they have told me they are not sure why, they need to investigate it and they will get back to me, which they never do. I have also filed an official complaint with the bank with regards to this situation.
I would now like to instruct a solicitor to contact the bank on my behalf and then hopefully they will get an answer and speed up this process.
Can anyone recommend any solicitors who are familiar with these types of cases?
Regards

Have you tried going into a branch with ID etc???
Also you would need to go to the FOS I would assume.
Have you done any fraud recently?? Or you might be a victim of fraud?0 -
The bank seem to be avoiding giving you an answer which would therefore suggest the block is to do with anti money laundering procedures. If that is the case they can not legally go into any detail with you or a solicitor.0

I think a solicitor will be a waste of money as the ill-thought AML law seems to give banks a carte blanche to relax for as long as they want and to case their customers as much inconvenience as they wish.
If they do keep dragging their feet for unreasonable time, I'd complain demanding compensation, then took the case to FOS if needed.0 -

Thanks for the comments.
My legal advisor and accountant have also had a look over my bank account and they can see no reason for any of this to have happened.
I have still had no information from the bank with regards to the situation and it is now really affecting my business. Any idea how long this will last?0 -
Affecting your business ? ..... is this a business bank account or a personal one. Are there any transactions from abroad ?0

Have you been using your personal account as a business account?
If you have you may have breached the account terms and conditions, Banks don't like you using your personal account as a business account, many banks have this as a stipulation and if they find that you have been they will close your account.
To me it sounds like this is what you have been doing and the bank have discovered this and are not to happy about it!!Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -

Even if this is the case, it doesn't allow the bank to block access. They would be required to give notice of the closure, most T&Cs I've seen say 60 days notice.0 -
I'd be very surprised if they allowed you to continue to breach the T&C's for a further 60 days once discovered.
Is the 60 day notice not for when the bank simply chooses that it no longer wishes to offer services to you (for whatever reason, account management etc) then you have time to make other arrangements, but if the customer breaches T&C they can terminate the contract straight away?0
