Me too... I thought there had been a great underwear giveaway that I had missed!
I think DdraigGoch is saying 'Thank goodness for this site. Thanks goodness for Martin creating this site. And thank goodness we plan and are organized OSers and have lots of stuff stored in our cupboards and pantries so that we don't have to go out in the snow - unlike un-OSers'
Hopefully I'm right!Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0 -
Well now I have finished laughing...I was feeling quite down so thanks very much you lot for cheering me up
...I'll add my two pennyworth!
I know what you mean DdraigGoch ....I'm highly delighted that I've got a pantry again....well it's not a pantry as such...just a very large cupboard in the kitchen...but I've built up quite a good array of essentials in there...and am thankful that I have.
It's about a mile or so to the village. so last Saturday I went and stocked up on fresh milk, bread etc....it all went in the freezer and the rest of the bits in the pantry. Hubby usually has to dig the drive out when its snowy as we're quite a way of the main road. I'm glad I had the milk etc. in already...have been able to stay snug and warm and cook some warming meals. The snow has all gone now from here...but I know that I've got enough food in to cope if it comes again...or if there's anything else untoward happens.
My Mum always had a pantry...not always stocked with alot...things were a lot harder when I was younger...but enough to keep us going for a while. I'm pleased I followed in her footsteps and I think my 3 DD's have done the same.
Hope the weather's improving for people...stay warm and snug...and remember to look out for your elderly neighbours...and younger ones come to that... with all this credit crunch etc.....we're all in the same boat.A family that eats together, stays together

Is it because of this thread - Old Fashioned PantriesI'll merge them later
Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
No, Penny, it wasn't. In fact, I didn't even know of that thread - though I'll nip over and have a look in a 'tic. I started this thread [and thanks everyone for the hilarity over the misreadings!!! Now I can't read it properly either!] purely because I heard of some of my neighbours digging themselves out, panicking because they had no milk, potatoes, loo roll etc ... so I thought, "it's a good job I've got a pantry, and I'm sure that lots more people have one now, thanks to Martin & MSE/OS ..." so I thought I'd say thank you properly.
All the same, "Thanks for the PANTIES" is much funnier! If you see me on here - shout at me to get off and go and get something useful done!!0
