i believe there is a 5* in playa blanca http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g652121-d290459-Reviews-Princesa_Yaiza_Suite_Hotel_Resort-Playa_Blanca_Lanzarote_Canary_Islands.html lovely looking hotel not sure if its all inclusive or not0 -
Hi the yaiza in playa blanca is the top one there it is half board and right on the sea front beautifull place.0

The author of the Playa Blanca thread on here, swears by the princesa Yaiza and she lived in PB for years. She booked all her visitors in there to stay, saying it was the best place in PB
Is expensive, but Wow ! lol
http://princesayaiza.com/ do honeymoon packages too, with upgrade on room.0 -
I've stayed in the Dream Gran Castillo, which was incredibly good. A good 40 minutes walk from the centre of Playa Blanca though, or 4€ in a taxi.
Princesa Yaiza is a fantastic hotel, but doesn't offer all inclusive.0 -
I would also highly recommend Dream Gran Castillo.0

Really cant have both.
Star ratings are predominantly based on facilities and little else. As long as they have their spa and 24hr reception etc they certainly can be 5*
AI basis is simply based on what is included in the price you pay.
You certainly can get 5* AI.
Now, by "true 5*" I am assuming you mean a luxury service etc and not just a hotel that happens to have the features required to get the 5th star. That still doesnt preclude it from having an AI option, though I agree it is much rarer. There are certainly some luxury hotels in the Maldives that I've seen doing AI basis via a few agents even though they only offer FB direct or via the majority of agents.0 -
Thanks for the replies, currently looking to book Hotel Gran Castillo. I have emailed them directly to see what their best price would be. Had a look at the Princesa Yaiza but a bit too expensive. This is a surprise pressie for my son and his wife to be.0
