Wrought iron gate - How to hang it!!

Hello
I am trying to put a wrought iron gate onto a wall but am unsure how to attach it correctly. I have cut the gap and intend to render both sides but before i render i was going to pack the hanging side of the gate wall with concrete. I was going to then attach gate brackets into render/concrete with concrete rawl plugs. Do you think they would be strong enough in the wall to support the gate being opended an closed regularly? I was not intending to put in a metal/concrete post to attach the gate to as previous it was held directly on to a brick built house
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Dunno if it helps, but I have a couple of iron gates across the drive - approx size 3ft high by 4ft wide (each) - these were just screwed in to stone pillars with standard wall plugs and haven't droped over the last 20 years or so.
Each gate hangs off a couple of hangers with 4 screws, similar to these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-GATE-HINGES-HANGERS-WROUGHT-IRON-GATES-8mm-SPIGOTS-/160611242989 (no recommendation implied, just the first picture I hit - oh, and ebay weren't invented then..!!).0 -
That's what I have for the gate. Three of them as gate is 190cm x 120cm. Just wasn't sure if it would hold if I drilled straight into render/concrete.0

Should be fine.0

what about using Lightning Bolt Hex Head
drill straight into the stone and put a Lightning Bolt in with a socket job done0 -

have a look at that video it will show you what the concrete screws are like
the first time i saw them used was with a double glazing company and they were using them to fit the windows
I bought some of the heavy duty hex bolt version to fix wood to brick and put them in with a half inch square drive scocket0 -
If you live in a "troubled" area hang the gate so it can't simply be lifted off, ie reverse on of the hinges or drill and pin 1 hinge post.
!!!!!! love wrought iron gatesI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
