RBS Charges, help please

We received our 6yrs bank statements this morning and have been through them but are still a bit confused over what we can and cannot claim back. We had an agreed overdraft facility which over the last 6yrs has been increased at times and decreased to very low when we've sorted the account out.
There are often 2 or 3 smaller charges from £3-£12 plus a regular charge of £25 all which follow a stinging referal charge of between £30-£90. We aren't sure which ones are service charges and can't be claimed and which are penalty charges, they all simply say 'Charge'.
So far we ignored most charges except the high Referal Charges and the £25 Charge which covers the prev month each time we've gone over the overdraft.
We have no returned DD's or cheques, all DD's were paid out by the bank and I think the numerous little charges might be for these individual items but do we claim them as well?
Please can someone advise so we ask for the right amount and don't give the RBofS a reason to defend the case.
Many thanks for any help!
regards Val.

Just like to say a huge thanks to LozBingley for all his help, patience and good humour. I received excellent help behind the scenes, hubby and I really appreciate it and couldn't of completed the task without his help.
Many thanks Loz!!!0 -
Hi Val,just to say if you hold a royalties account then that may be what the £12 charge is,the ones for £3+ are probably interest. We've had 2 claims with rbs, both of which were successful. We had charges of £28 which we included in our claims, and they were paid back.I'd check if you have had a royalties account, and if you have then you can't claim this, also you can't claim the interest ,but as for all of the others, you can reclaim these(referal charges etc),goodluck:)We received our 6yrs bank statements this morning and have been through them but are still a bit confused over what we can and cannot claim back.
