Green deal
Hi all, not sure if this is the correct place but here goes.
We have recently bought our first property and need to replace the double glazing as they have water inside most of them, we also need to replace the boiler as it is very old and still uses the emerget tank.
I have read a lot about the green deal but and still very confused by this. Can anyone explain it in plain English, do i still pay for the boiler and windows upfront then claim back costs? Are these items paid for and i repay with the savings? Are the items partly paid for and i pay the rest as a loan? So confused by this.

No, there is no grant. You pay for the improvements via your electricity bills over the next 10 years, plus 7% pa interest.
If you sell the property, the buyer has to take on the debt.
Since the improvements have to reduce your consumption so that the bills will not actually increase more than they would have done without the improvements, I doubt that misted d/g and an older boiler alone alone is going to qualify you.
If you want the assessment done you have to pay a fee for it.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
