Nope still wrong because we allow it to be, next you will get life insurance fims telling you you died to early or before the agreed date as specified in the extreamely small print you didnt read. Insurance companies have very highly paid executives who's job it is to work out risk and probability and this will be factured in but ignored as it's a means of ripping the public off and dont be fooled that is what this is Blatent rape for as long as they can get away with it , but hold on these responsible multi-national companies would never do anything like that there far to responsible !!!!!!!!!

Steady on. Rape is a serious and devastating crime. You need to be a little more reasonable in your assessments.

Can you clarify... there was a £500 excess? That's a massive amount. What sort of bike was it (motor, cycle etc?).

If you were paying up the policy, I can see your confusion, but as others noted, you need to pay the full policy when a settlement is made, there is no rebate - even if your son gets a car, be careful of the questions as this claim may work against him if the question is have you ever had an insurance claim... if he says no and he did not declare, this can cause all sorts of unrelated horrors later,

Motorbike policies tend to have a big theft excess for young drivers as they're bikes have a habit of being stolen

Cheers buzby, yes there was a £450 excess on the thing and it was a motorbike, i am aware of the issue's if i dont mention the claim, however we did contemplate not claiming as we felt it would im pact but when we rang the insurance to say we would not be claiming because it would impact i was told that motorcycle claims dont usually cross over to cars, but just in case i did some comparisons to see the difference and the biggest rise comes on claims over £1000, claims lower than this didnt impact much at all !!!

Corrected that for you, I'm 46 and my excess is £500, if I want it any lower the cost increases a large amount
