yeah its possible with something like a USB stick, however, without a gpu, the system wont even post. All you will get is a series of beeps from the internal speaker (if one is connected) telling you the GPU has failed. It wont even get to the point where an OS will be loaded.0 -
The more i think about it, the more likly this scenario seems correct:
Board had a faulty track/dry joints - this can cause an intermittent fault.
System assembled with fault coming and going
System settled down and was stable until it was moved ( to install USB keyboard ) this movement was enough to disturb the connection, and render it non-operational.
At the moment I'm still waiting for Novatech to get back in touch, so far nothing since last Friday.
Another Option could be to pay for Novatech to fix it, then get the faulty board back, have it independently checked and then if it proves to be as I have said get as re-fund from Novatech.
As for getting it checked I used to work at an electronics/circuit board manufacturing place - mainly assembling and hand soldering various custom circuit boards ( as well as a little bit of surface mount/automated stuff)0 -
Motherboards are pretty tough, I find it hard to believe that some of the tracks could lift off.
How about asking Novatech for a picture.0
