Thank you, I was too tired yesterday and I don't like spending money :rotfl: but it was a relief.

The debts in OHs name have gone from in the high 50,000s to just over 4000 worth of statute barred in seven years. His credit is unblemished and we could probably settle the remainder for 4-5 hundred if I tried. A big chunk of that was partially settled a couple of months ago but we've paid the majority off in full as well.

It is worth a dance :D

The search for a side table continues, it might as well match the furniture someone gave me so it might take a while as that stuff goes for silly money on ebay.

OH had a lot of holiday built up and hasn't organised anything so now he's on three day weeks until most of it is gone. No christmas is left obviously, he wouldn't take it anyway as there are people with young kids who need it off. Lots of long weekends with the wheelchair are ahead, good job it hasn't snowed.

No cleaning today so no chance to move the final amount from the credit union, I'll do it as soon as I'm in town. Might go shopping this afternoon instead of tomorrow and get it over with. No other news.

Ooh, a letter from the council offering £150 redecorating allowance. That will actually pay for the decorating stuff and the broken items so no need to complain now.

They are usually such meanies about redecorating, too. They wrecked a whole room and offered £6 once :rotfl:

I'll put that in another bank and make sure it only gets used in January. Will keep an eye out for a decent new set of brushes.

Okay well access to work paid up again so I went online to see what new stuff River Island put in their sale. Got 10 items for son & heir for £108 which is super cheap and I hadn't got him a load at the start of term so he needed it.

Two thick hoodies, two nice fluffy jumpers and six t-shirts. I'm not too worried about whether he'll like them or not as there are two or three shops where he'll wear pretty much anything as long as it's not too loud. Kept it mostly simple and I can return anything he finds horrendous.

He does need trainers and I tried getting him to pick some from Sports Direct's sale but he insisted he doesn't need any because he likes the ones he's got. I've stuck them through the washer this morning but I might have to insist, depends how well they come up.

Nothing else. Did the shopping and finished off the credit union money swap yesterday, OH put up with the wheelchair but he really does prefer it for walks where there are less people. Hopefully he'll get more used to it.

Both pairs of trainers came out like new, amazing what a wash will do :p the tread on them is still fine as well, so no need to make him get new ones yet.

No other money news. I got new threshold bars at the Sunday Market as the council workers wrecked three while ripping the carpets up, only £6 and they look alright. Saw a newish electric screwdriver, if it's still there next week I'm going to haggle a bit for it. Didn't have enough on me this week.

Veg curry and rice tonight, son & heir's fave. Smells lovely.

Had a good long walk this morning, hardly anyone about so OH was happy and the wheelchair did well on the uneven stretches.

Now I'm just fiddling about fixing bits and pieces round the house and wishing I'd gone back to get that electric screwdriver :D

They sent the taxi card and forms for the vouchers, they'll only last till April so thinking about how many we should get and what hospital appointments are between now and then.

Have to pick up the River Island order tomorrow so hopefully I'll already be in town. No other news, everything is ticking along. Although I still have no idea where we stand with money I do know it's in the black, just not by how much.

Son & heir is up to £2400 in his savings, will hit £2500 this month. It's the only consistent thing with money I've ever achieved so am very happy with that, just wish I'd started sooner. There's not much point trying to add up what he could have had by now though. After Christmas the next goals are his passport and provisional license so he can start lessons. We'll pay for them and his tests and whatnots.

The major problem is finding a countersignature as we literally don't know anyone anymore that can sign them. Wasn't a problem before our life downgraded but now it is, we were going to ask his teacher from school but he got arrested :rotfl: the GPs and nurses don't do this sort of thing any more. Will definitely need a kick up the bum this time to get it done.
  • Is there a former teacher who could do this?

The only one that knew him for the requisite amount of time was arrested for trying to join ISIS and probably doesn't count as an upstanding citizen for passports any more, if he's even allowed one himself :o

Bad timing really. I'll have to try and think of something.

Actually though there might be other teachers. He's a bit quiet so I don't know who knew him well enough to ask but we're picking up his GCSEs this week so will ask. Good idea, thanks!

Bit of cleaning this morning so I got all the stuff done in town that needed doing. Phoned the school to find out when we could go for his certificates and will have to organise something with son & heir this week.

Crossed fingers there will be vouchers for christmas toys soon, the kids are very young so it's just token gestures really. The sales in town are pretty tempting with all the lights up though, shame I don't know how much money there is :o

Got the foodbank sorted, felt a bit on the mean side but I'm sure they'll still need donations after christmas as well.

Picked up the clothes from the sale and am waiting for a fashion show later to see if it's okay. Hopefully at least some of it will be alright.

Nothing else. Was hoping for a magical christmas side table to appear in a charity shop but nothing so far :rotfl:

The clothes went down well, so score on that front. Noticed that his desk is looking pretty grotty so ordered an adhesive vinyl sheet to cover it. It's still solid enough, just not up to the constant use and ink stains etc. The cover will get another year out of it at least and there's no point getting an expensive one that will just get scuffed up again.

Nothing else. The banks are doing what they're supposed to although I still can't tell where we are exactly. Ordered the maximum taxi vouchers as OH worked out he'll easily use them just on health appointments, if any get cancelled we can use them for walks in different places.

Will pick up GCSE certificates on Friday morning, son & heir couldn't be less interested but I can't wait :rotfl:
