NI contributions - employer not paying

I hope someone can help.

My employer has gone bust and I have been made redundant.

I went to claim JSA but have been advised that my claim has been rejected due to missing NI contributions for 2010 - 2011.

I have my P60s which confirm NI was being deducted by my employer, for this year, so the only explanation is he didn't pay it to HMRC. He has gone bust previously but started up again, that I do know.

I have never been contacted by HMRC to say I have missing NI contributions. I did speak to them two weeks ago and they advised me that my NI was up to date for this year.

Can anyone advise me what to do?

To get contribution JSA you need to have oaid NI in 2911/12 & 2012/13. Were you working for him then?

If you have payslips showing tax and National Insurance deductions and a P60 showing your total pay, tax and NI for the tax year, then you can ask HMRC to credit you with the contributions deducted from your wages.
