UKPC PARKING CHARGE NI (Omagh)

Was visiting Omagh today (not from area) and went to Showgrounds Retail Park. Car parking is free. Dropped my wife close to the main shops.Tried to park car but parking bays in that area were all for disabled use so went to another area of park. I went off site to visit local bank but my wife remained in the retail park (car registered in her name). I returned from bank and went around the shops in the Retail Park. On returning to the vehicle found a UKPC Parking Charge notice attached to the screen. This charge was for owner/drive going off site. We have a receipt for purchases at the Next store and a lodgement slip from my bank confirming my transaction. I have read various thing on the Internet refering to these charges issued by UKPC in Northern Ireland. I feel we have been unfairly penalised and would be prepared to appeal/contest this charge, however all advice would appear to ignore this charge/invoice as all appeals are rejected by UKPC. Really don't want to end up with an increasing fine. Maybe I should just pay?

Any advice very welcome.

Ignore really is still the best advice for NI and Scotland as nothing has changed there. Its only England and Wales that got stuck with POFA 2012.

If you read the Newbies Sticky at the head of this forum and the pre-POFA letter chain thread, you will get the full current picture and a fair idea of the rubbish they will send over the next few months. :)

Don't contact them at all - you'll get several letters before they give up - it's all bluff and bluster - they can't do a damn thing unless you are foolish enough to tell them who was driving and parked the car on that particular day.

They will threaten all sorts of nonsense but unless they know the driver for 100% they can do absolutely nothing.

Ignore isn't just the best option in NI, it's the only option. If you need further assurance check my former posts here or on Pepipoo.
