as lets be honest who deliberately pays more for insurance than necessary?
I'm hoping it doesn't hold things up too much as well, as ill be gutted if I lose the car I've got my eye on too.

Technically those who want to pay more to get higher limits to then have a fake/ staged claim against those higher limits. A claim for a £10k engagement ring that never existed etc.
Unfortunately not all people who commit fraud are up on insurance pricing and not all do their homework. Certainly some will under declare things thinking it reduces their premiums when in practice, in some cases at least, it increases the cost.0
