Faulty bed

Can anyone help me please? My partner and I recently (6 months ago) bought a double divan bed from Kay & Co. And has since in several places developed an annoying "creak". We have contacted Kay & Co. On a few occasions to see what our options are but all they throw at us is "if we find no fault with the bed it will cost you £45.00 to return it"! There is obviously a problem with it or we wouldn't be emptying the four drawers and transporting it down the stairs of a three storey house! My concern is, what if they say there is nothing wrong after all this and it costed me £45 to get a faulty bed back? Who actually makes the decisions on the matter?
Very concerned,

You could get your own independent report if they say it's fine, and if that comes back saying faulty, ask for a replacement or refund plus costs.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Many thanks for the advice,
It really bothers me that we are being treated like criminals when all we want is fair play!
Who would I see about such a report anyway, someone like a carpenter?0 -
Did you try tightening up any screws/bolts before you get them out?
It's fixed the creaking on my Ikea bed before now.0
