Hi fellow forumites
I've been quoted a total of £180 for the labour to connect a new compact table top dishwasher. All the waste and inlet pipes etc are within 1 metre and no carpentry to the work tops is required.
I'm a bit surprised at this quote, it seems a bit high for what I hope will be about a 1/2hr job.
What do the more knowlegable of you think? Is this a fair quote? I haven't got an idea of what it should cost
Thanks in avance

I found he plumber who gave this quote on checkatrade so I hope that it's reasonable, . I have use contacted another one who quotes £120. The £60 difference is so tempting it seems too good to be true, but my neighbour had some work done cheaply a few years ago and is still paying to put it right.its hard to know who to turn to.0

It seems an awful lot of money to do such a small job.
Have you had a look at the mechanics of doing it yourself, my husband did ours and I don't think it was technical at all.
Have a look on Utube and ask 'how to plumb in a dishwasher.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

I did just that when trying to fathom out why the first quote was so high. I would try it myself but I have impaired mobility and can't get under the sink to the pipes etc. tempting as it is to save some cash I think I should get a plumber in case it's not as straightforward as it looks.0 -
unless it is really complicated both of those quotes are crazyI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
I would seriously consider £80 for less than 1 hrs work considering its a new machine and all the materials are present. I curse my disability because I could have tried it my self a year ago but I had a serious brain injury that put paid to that idea0

£180?? ...to plumb in a dishwasher?? Does that include supplying the dishwasher?!!
I wouldn't dream of charging more than £40 to do this job... unless there was something seriously weird about the install. Sometimes I'll do this for £20 if it's a regular and I'm passing.
£180!?!!!!!!!!!!!!0
