Trustnet comparison tool

I'm looking for a way of assessing the correlations between two different funds. I understand that Trustnet has a comparison tool which will enable me to do this, but I can't find the tool.
Could anyone point me to the right place?
Thanks.

Add them to your basket.
Go to your basket.
Examine these funds using FE Trustnet tools and choose how you want to compare0 -
Thank you! I've found the right webpage and have generated a comparison report but for some reason the correlation section is only showing each fund's correlation with itself (ie, giving a correlation coefficient of 1.0).
What am I doing wrong?0 -
The correlation is likely to be pretty similar with 2 funds in the same sector with the same objective. Try choosing a fund from 1 sector compared to another (e.g. MFM Techinvest Technology vs. Henderson Gbl Eq Inc gives 0.55).0

Sorry, I don't think I explained the problem properly.
For some funds, no correlation is given at all. I can't see why this would be the case.0 -
You need 2 or 3 years of history (I can't remember which) for the correlation. So if the fund is a new launch (or newly launched clean class of an existing fund), then you won't be able to get the correlation.Sorry, I don't think I explained the problem properly.

I don't think you have done it right then. Make sure both funds are added to the basket. The correlation section will prepopulate as a matrix. So if you have 2 funds, it will show as 2x2 matrix. Of course it will be correlation of 1.0 if it is matched against itself on the matrix.
As for no correlation, it's probably because the fund has not been running for long enough to have sufficient data.Stephen Covey once said that "when you teach once, you learn twice". That is the primary reason for my participation on the forums as an IFA.
Although I strive to provide accurate information in my posts, there may be the odd time when I fail. Yes I know it's hard to believe but even Your Hero can make mistakes. Apologies in advance.0
