Leekes - Replacement Door with half glass but refused FENSA certificate

Hi, hope someone can advise on this one:
We bought a new door with fanlight and frame from Leekes, it cost over £2000 in July 2008. This door showed a crack in the frame at the corner of the glass this year, the door had a 10 yr guarantee on it.
Firstly Leekes tried to offer us a cheaper more inferior door as a replacement but I refused this and wanted like for like, which I deemed as reasonable considering the initial cost. We eventually got the replacement I wanted and paid an extra £300 for a new 10 yr guarantee. It was fitted on the 28 May 14.
We have now decided to move house and am aware the guarantee will be null and void on moving out but they refuse to issue a new FENSA certificate for it and say they don't have to and to use the original one which is dated July 2008.
I don't believe this is correct and have asked for guarantee paperwork for door as I have no proof that this is a new door and a replacement. They refuse to produce new FENSA certificate.
It took me almost a year to get FENSA certificates for 2 new windows they installed over a year ago. They are not in my opinion being helpful and I have already told them that I will not be purchasing anymore windows from them.
Am I right in thinking that they should provide me with a new certificate for the new door?. It is half minster engraved glass with in a wood effect frame. Thanks in advance.

I'd just use the old certificate.
We have a window and door without FENSA certificates, and having sold our house, the solicitor just said that we could buy indemnity insurance should the issue be flagged up. We shall just have to wait and see...
On the seller info, it just asks if you have had any windows and doors fitted after 2002.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
according to FENSA it is them who send you the certificate not the company
You can also request a duplicate certificate online
http://www.fensa.co.uk/benefits-to-customers.aspx
FENSA Building Regulations Certificate:
This will be sent by FENSA directly to you to demonstrate compliance, important in the event you need to sell your house.
If you have lost your FENSA certificate, it is quick and simple to re-order online by clicking here
Perhaps a call to FENSA would be in order0 -
Thank you for the advice, I have phoned FENSA who state that it is regarded as a replacement door and not a repair, so the original certificate is fine. So will not worry about it anymore.Mortgage: Aug 12 £114,984.74 - Jun 14 £94000.00 = Total Payments £20984.74

Sorry to jump on thread but... You are an absolute star! couldn't find my certificates and always wondered how I went about getting duplicates! (don't intend moving - but like to have everything in place just in case!)0
