Bluestone Credit Management have acquired a cleared debt

Hi All,
first post.
My situation is this:-
i had an old HPI account with park motor finance that i cleared off in january 2014, i owed say £2k but negotiated with them for a one off payment of £1400 to clear and close the account. Park motor finance were very close to going into administration at the time and appeared happy to negotiate with me.
i paid the £1400 debt and thought in my mind the account was closed as this was agreed between both parties.
now just over 6 months on i have checked my credit file and see 3 late payments to BCM (Bluestone credit management). now i find out that they have bought what they believe to be a debt i owe of just over £750, this debt was cleared with my above payment but park had not updated there records and therefore bluestone are pursuing me for this amount.
latest postition is, ive written to bluestone and showed them proof of payment for the £1400, which they accept.
i do not have any proof as such that my agreement with Park existed.
bluestone will not correct my credit account and will keep applying late payments till the account is either cleared (by paying the £750) or i can get proof of the agreement.
this is causing me real issues at the moment.
do i have a leg to stand on fighting them? how would i go about doing this? ive used the standard correction/notice of correction letters given my credit expert but no change in stance from BCM.
what do i do next?
Many thanks for reading, hope that makes sense.

If you didn't get the settlement offer in writing, you are somewhat stuffed.
Was it done on the phone?
Your only hope would be a SAR to park finance that might show something in your favour, but if in administration I doubt it will even get responded to.
Who reports to your credit file? Did the account show as settled before bluestone bought it?
