Someone else signed for my package. Unsure what to do!

Hi all
I'm living abroad at the moment but as my boyfriend was going to be back in the UK, I had an important package delivered to a commercial address where he was going to be all week.
The company share the building with around another 10 companies but I had let his company receptionist know it was coming.
I used Special Delivery Next Day before 1pm. When I tracked it, I could see it was signed for by "Frank" at 1.38pm Wednesday. However, when it hadn't been received by reception by Friday, they made enquiries with the general building postroom as there's no one in their company called "Frank"! However, the postroom claims they haven't received anything either.
Technically, it should have gone to reception as the name of the Unit and company were clearly specified on the address, but no doubt RM will say they just have to deliver to the "building". As far as I know, there are no security measures in place to stop couriers going to the company receptionist instead of having to leave it with the postroom.
It was quite a valuable order to I now don't know what to do. It's quite possible that it was mislaid or stolen by the guys in the general postroom - I'm currently waiting to see if there's anyone working there called Frank.
However, even if there's not, presumably Royal Mail will claim that someone must have accepted it and given a false name, when I have a gut feeling that as the RM guy was late with his deliveries that day, he signed it himself.
The seller can't do anything as as far as they're concerned, the item was "delivered" so they're not going to refund me and take this up with RM. Either way, I can't prove that RM took it, nor can I prove that the postroom guys don't have it - I just know that I don't!!
Does anyone have any advice?
Many thanks
