3rd party claims companies

My partner received a letter from a legitimate 3rd party claims company and has signed to give them permission to proceed with the claim. They have contacted him advising him to not have any contact with the bank directly and to ignore any attempts at contact. The bank have sent him a text stating they will be in contact with him soon about his claim for ppi. Is it ok to converse with the bank in the hope of receiving payment without having to pay commission fees?
Thanks in advance

That is a strange position to take. People have had complaints rejected because they refused info that banks asked. What if they have found no wrong doing at their end and they are now looking at suitability of the contract. If they cant speak to your partner, they wont know if it was unsuitable or not and won't need to uphold the complaint on that reason. Is it ok to converse with the bank in the hope of receiving payment without having to pay commission fees?
You are committed to paying the claims company once you employ them. Despite the fact they do nothing other than stick a stamp on the envelope.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Once the legally-binding contract has been signed with the claims company, there is nothing the complainant can do to avoid paying them commission on a successful complaint. Is it ok to converse with the bank in the hope of receiving payment without having to pay commission fees?
If you fail to pay their commission, the CMC will set debt collectors on you and ultimately take you to court.
Having said all that, it's perfectly okay to converse with the Bank about your complaint. The reason the CMC are telling you not converse with the Bank directly is so that you do not realise exactly how little they actually do which you could not do yourself completely free.0
