Bluetooth setup to connect mobile to PC

Please help.

I bought a Trust Bluetooth 2.0 EDR USB Adapter and using the instructions installed the drivers etc. on my PC. I managed to get a mobile phone icon and could access my mobile and send items to/from.

A couple of weeks ago (I think this may be connected) I joined Shopandscan. This required my to download something to my pc to allow the 'clicker' to send data.

Since then (or maybe before, I cannot honestly say when) I cannot get my mobile and pc to communication. The phone is 'discovered' and I accept access using a pin but thats where it all goes haywire! The icon that appears gives the name of my mobile but it is of a laptop and not a mobile. It also states underneath the name of my mobile 'desktop'.

Have uninstalled and reinstalled bluetooth twice now. Noticed there is a choice of two locations, both D but d:\driver\btw 4.0.1.2900\btwusb.inf and the same but \btwusb9z.inf.

After following the installation instructions the only communication I end up with that has a picture of a PC and mobile is disabled. I try to enable it but keep getting com port not available or something. Can someone please guide me and tell me where I am going wrong.

One other change recently is I installed and did a cleanup using CCleaner.

Have tried system restore to a few days ago but to no avail.

Help please!!

I did not realise that my 'headset' had to be on, silly me thinking this was only for setting up a bluetooth headset! Have now set up hands free and all working okay.
