upgrade to Vista-Netgear DG834Gv3

I am in the process of tentatively upgrading to Windows Vista & following instructions on CD & sheet provided with HP Upgrade advisor. Now down to disconnect & uninstall all peripherals, inc printers, scanners etc but no mention of my wireless modem. Is this ok to stay attached & will I have to install any updates to it re Vista after upgrade?

Tried looking for default gateway mentioned on another thread & found that, but cant log onto router as password I thought was correct wont work. The user names choice for log-in are me & 2kids hotmail addresses-would my hotmail add be used as username? Dont know, as I didnt originally install & set router up. Tried my norm email (outlook) but that didnt work with password used either.

Sorry there are alot of questions there-if I didnt need to do upgrades on router, it would make things easier, but think I will have to??!! Many thanks for any help

PS just been on Netgear site & downloaded vista upgrade which I think I will run when PC upgraded to Vista, so orig question still stands....will I be ok to leave router attached & installed when doing PC upgrade????

The Netgear router is completely independent of the OS on the PC. It'll need no upgrades or updates to work with Vista.

There is a reset button on the back of the router but be aware that it'll reset everything so you'll need to re-enter the broadband user/pass and wireless WEP/WPA key.
