I bought binoculars from a local shop. After a couple of days I decided I wanted a more expensive pair. The shop didn't have any in stock so the manufacturer agreed that I could send them back to them and pay an extra £50 for the more expensive pair.
I received the new pair two days ago but they aren't what I expected. Am I entitled to a refund of the whole amount from the manufacturer since I sent back the original pair which they accepted as brand new?

You aren't entitled to any refund, unless the binoculars are misdescribed, faulty, or not fit for purpose.0

Even if you were covered the most you would be entitled to is the original pair back and your £50, minus whatever the deduct for the lower resale value of a used pair.
You never paid them the full amount so can't expect a full refund.0
