It's not sensible to write, "no need for DVD-RAM" without quoting an alternative within the OP's budget. I was quoting from the £150 budget. The Panasonic covers most bases at that price.
If you want multi-disc capability, Freeview and a 160GB HDD with a decent brand, you may have to pay quite a bit more.
The Panasonic with the spec that you quote is a full £100 more; http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-DMR-EX75EB-S-Recorder-Freeview-Upscaling/dp/B000IH9QRI0 -
I have had a Panasonic DMR E55 for about 3 years now and it's a superb bit of kit, with it's Ram Disc system it only records to disc and I feed it through an ASDA freeview tuner and I find that good enough for me, the erase system only takes seconds and an added bonus is the time slip facility."Imagination is more Important than knowledge"0
