Overseas spending with Halifax Clarity

in Credit cards
Hey all, hope you've had a good weekend.
I've had a Halifax Clarity Credit card for over a year and love it. I use it to do all my spending overseas and for that it's great.
My question was about online purchases when overseas. For example, booking.com, hotels.com when booking hotels, or indeed airline websites such as SkyScanner or Air Asia?
The safe option presumably would be to go for the Halifax Clarity, but what if I wanted to maximise points on my Amex Gold, for example? Or the Santander 123 card?
Should I presume that if the currency on the website is pounds then I should pay with the Amex/Santander, and if the currency is other then the Clarity?
Would be a shame to miss out on free points/rewards!
Thanks:T

Yes - unless you you can chose the currency you pay in in which case you can compare all options.
Thanks, so the kicker here is the currency, and not the location. So if I had the choice, I presumably would always want to choose the price in pounds (so long as I'm happy with the price). In that case I can use the UK Amex card and not have to worry about a thing?0 -

Not necessarily. I remember once paying in another currency for plain tickets as it was cheaper than in pounds, although it was by a debit card without cashback because of extra fees for paying by a credit card.So if I had the choice, I presumably would always want to choose the price in pounds (so long as I'm happy with the price).
