I have also had these checks relating to a "New Credit Agreement Summary"
made recently with the cryptic note that the company concerned is ACAW0068 Public Utility
but with an account number that means nothing to me.
I have carried out further checks and can CONFIRM that this is definitely United Utilities.

This is interesting terminology, since there's no agreement between you and the water company, unless they're going for the good old "implied agreement". Did they do a search, or are they just plonking payment data against your name?

Hi Everyone

I have an equifax account and was alerted to this same "New Credit Agreement Summary" with the number ACAW0068.

I called Equifax and they said that it is indeed United Utilities who I am with. They said that previously public utilities didn't count toward the whole credit system, but recently it was changed and now they do. So this has then appeared on my credit report as part of that process of my account with them counting towards my credit.
