Schreiber laminate flooring

Hey there,
I'm a totally newbie here but just wondered if anyone has any experience of Schreiber laminate flooring? It seems reasonably priced and is the colour we want but can't really find any details on AC ratings so was hoping someone might be able to fill me in?! Also, if anyone can advise what else we need apart from the obvious planks, underlay and beading for installation? It's going into our kitchen so want to make sure we have everything for when fitting begins!
Many thanks :)

    Hi

Homebase own Schreiber brand, I think you'll find. But i've not used it or know anyone that has.

Their flooring is good value currently, I was looking at it yesterday, on offer at half price. And they will also have a 15% weekend too, soon I expect.

Not sure of all the range, but the boards were 7mm, you can get thicker, but dearer of course.

Some people will advise you of potential problems in kitchens, with spills and other water problems, but thats same with most laminates, even if they say water resistant. I've used B&Q suitable for kitchens before, with no problem.

What You dont want to do, is buy the Vitrex green underlay from them. You can get it from Screwfix for half the price. It is superior to the fibreboard that B&Q have, for similar price.

Thanks Vansboy - I really appreciate your help :) The planks are 10mm thick so hopefully they will wear OK and I will certainly check out Screwfix for the underlay! :j

boxoflove - did you go with the schreiber 10mm laminate and 1 year later how are they sitting today? I'm considering the same and would be great to know what you think of your laminates now? Also would you recommend them for a kitchen area even though they say not suitable for splash areas (e.g. bathroom)? Like you I too cannot find any AC ratings which makes me a little worried...

    do let us know. thanks

We just had a schreiber floor fitted in our hall, downstairs toilet and lounge. And I must say, it looks great. The joiner that fitted it said he usually fits the more expensive flooring from howdens, but said the quality of the schreiber flooring was exactly the same, and had no problems with the cutting or laying what so ever. I'd definitely recommend it, but I guess time will tell on if it stands up to the kids dropping things on it.
Good luck, I hope it all goes as smoothly as ours did.
