Weddings on a reasonable budget!

Myself and my fiancee are trying to plan our wedding on a reasonable budget but finding it tricky! We dont have excess money to spend so we really need to set a reasonable budget, how much would you say is reasonable for both ceremony and reception and all the bits in between! Any help would be appreciated! Thank you x :D

You can do a wedding reception for £100, you can do one for £10000. It depends what sort of things you want.
6 years ago we had a wedding reception in a nice hotel, for 80 people (upto 100 on night) on a Saturday. Everything we could have wanted. Came in about £4000.
Have a look at the sort of thing you like, get prices, see if it's possible.

    That's definitely realistic.
People cost money, the less people, the cheaper the wedding reception :-)

Or they've just saved. I'm not saving I'd spend so much on a wedding but if they've worked hard to save why not!

You budget should be achievable though :)

If you're in debt, shouldn't you be dealing with that first?

Yes thats what were trying to do, but we are each putting £100 into a savings account to save for our wedding as we know it wont happen for a long time :)

If you get them to bring food, people don't have to cost much. That's what we did.

It does probably depend on your family/friends though.

Do you have family members / friends who can help you out (bake cake, make favours, print invites etc) instead of buying you a gift?

Look out for unusual wedding locations, you might find somewhere that doesn't usually do weddings and could save you a small fortune. We were lucky that there is a beautiful barn in the village we had for our reception, it cost less than £200!
